Introduction

HTML stands for hyper text mark up language, and it is the code that is the backbone of the World Wide Web. A great way to learn HTML is by example, although it is also a great way to learn bad habits. When viewing a web page just click "view", "source" to view the code used on that particular page. You can always use the "copy", "paste" method to then copy the code and apply it to your own page. Be careful here that you don't become a web publishing mooch. It is always a good idea to e-mail that person to see if they will let you use some of their images or codes.

There are also many web editors out there that allow you to create web pages without ever seeing the HTML. Learning HTML can only help your web publishing, by letting you know what each particular tag is, and how it should work. This will assist you when you want to change, enhance, or troubleshoot your web pages.
